Does the CPNRD board of directors really intend to "Protect the Farmer" as their General Manager claims?

- If so, why are they refusing to address the  COHYST problems?

Read a summary of the COHYST problems identified by a landower/Registered Professional Engineer
Read the specifics of a Dec. 15, 2003 formal request for action to CPNRD to immediately act to correct defects in COHYST that this Nebraska native/landowner/Engineer has identified - complete with recommendations that will correct those defects to protect the farmer.                                                          [new 2/15/04]

Below are parts of 1 year's correspondence to CPNRD re COHYST issues

preceeding the October 23, 2003 Water Resources Committee meeting

Read an example of the February 22, 2003 letter sent to all 6 Dawson board members expressing specific concerns on   COHYST.                                                                                                                     [new 2/15/04]
Read a July 18, 2003 letter to the CPNRD board. This followed attendance at a June 26, 2003 meeting at which the "expert" modelers were to explain the modeling and verification approach. Instead, they spent much of their time telling us all how great they were. It was a pathetic presentation.                                          [new 2/15/04]

Below is the latest correspondence to CPNRD attempting to get them to actually address the COHYST problems that have been identified

Read the specifics of a Dec. 15, 2003 formal request for action by the CPNRD board               [new 2/15/04]
Read the January 9, 2004 first followup letter to Dec. 15 action request                                 [new 2/15/04]
Read the reply the landowner did receive dated January 22, 2004. But, it really said nothing! [new 2/15/04]

This landowner is now convinced, the voting majority of the CPNRD board is being irresponsible.

So, Read what the landowner has now told them as of February 6, 2004.

These are harsh words, but what other conclusions can a reasonable person reach?

The voting majority of the CPNRD board apparently could care less about what happens to agriculture in the Platte Valley of Nebraska or the people who elect them!                                                           [new 2/15/04]
