| Extracted from Dec 9, 2003 letter to CPNRD board[emphasis added by Webmaster]: |
| Next, let me address the complete omission which occurred regarding my
appearance before your board. The following facts need to be included in
your minutes. Richard Mercer, Board Member and Chairman of the Water Resources Committee engaged in a public, verbal personal attack directed at me in front of the entire room of people in attendance. He stated dismay over an opinion item I authored that was published in the Omaha World Herald on October 23. Then he proceeded to accuse me of being "difficult" in scheduling my meeting with the Water Resource Committee, and stated I was "arrogant" and "egotistical". He also essentially stated that I would never be allowed to meet with the Water Resource Committee again. Please also include in your minutes the fact that I stated "you are welcome to your opinion, but the opinions I stated in my letter stand." |
| Webmaster comment: SO, Richard Mercer thinks he has the right to DISENFRANCHISE a landowner affected by his actions by REFUSING to let them appear at the Water Resources Committee meetings to discuss anything that may affect them! It appears that Mr. Mercer believes the fact that he was elected by the public does NOT mean he is elected to serve them! Apparently, the public is to serve those they elect - at least if it is Richard Mercer? |
